The Ministry of Health are asking people who have visited countries or areas of concern and who have developed symptoms of fever, cough or shortness of breath to seek medical advice. More information can be found on their website or by calling Healthline on 0800 358 5453 or contact your GP, including phoning ahead of your visit.
Symptoms include: fever, coughing or trouble breathing.
Countries of concern – China, Iran, Italy, Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and Singapore.
If you think at any time that you may have been exposed to coronavirus, please phone us to discuss your treatment.
Please be aware that at present the foetal and pregnancy risks are unknown. We will be monitoring this and will keep our website and Facebook page informed should this change.
We will continue to monitor all new updates and keep you informed as we receive information from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health. You can also find the latest info about COVID-19 on the Healthline website.
What to look for:
The symptoms of COVID-19 are similar to those of any other upper-respiratory infection – runny nose, coughing, sore throat, and sometimes a fever.
Some practical ways to help reduce the risk of infection include:
• Frequently washing hands
• Where possible avoid close contact with people showing symptoms
• Practice good coughing etiquette (cover coughs and sneezes with disposable tissues, cough into the crease of your elbow and wash hands)
