Repromed at COVID-19 Alert Level 3

Kia ora,

Auckland is at COVID-19 Alert Level 3 and we are here to support all Repromed clients. Minimising community transmission is critical so we will be actioning immediate safety precautions – however good news, most of Repromed services and treatments continue at Alert Level 3.

This overview provides information about how services and treatments are impacted and provides suggestions for additional support.   If you have any queries that are causing you concern, please email the team so we can offer some reassurance: .

If you have started treatment

You’ll be pleased to hear that most services and treatment are available at Alert Level 3:

  • IVF / ICSI
  • Frozen Embryo Transfers (FET)
  • Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) – modified cycle
  • Donor Insemination (DI) cycles
  • Ovulation Induction (OI)

Scans and most blood tests continue to be available.

As you would expect, there will be changes within our clinic to ensure safety for everyone.  For Repromed to operate at Alert Level 3 comes with a responsibility and we will be taking significant and necessary measures to keep our clients, team, families and the health system safe.  For those that have started treatment, you will be contacted directly and an update will be given on your personal situation and any changes in process or timing that may need to be made.

If you have not yet started treatment

We WILL be able to start new treatment cycles as per the list above at Alert level 3.  Your nursing team will be in touch to discuss any necessary changes to your protocol.  Consultations will be via phone or video conference, unless investigations are required.

Keeping our clinic safe

As previously, the following safety precautions will be in place to make Repromed COVID-19 safe:

  • Please wear a mask when you come to the Repromed clinic, even if you don’t have any symptoms
  • Virtual consultations – where possible, appointments will continue to be done remotely via phone or video conference
  • High level hygiene – disinfection of all human touch areas, excellent hand hygiene and sanitising
  • Screening for COVID-19 – a health questionnaire will be sent prior to your visit to assess the risk of COVID-19 and provide tracing records in line with Ministry of Health requirements
  • Physical distancing rules – including increased spacing in the waiting room and staggered appointment and treatment times
  • Reduced numbers of people in our building – we would ask that you come by yourself during Alert Level 3
  • Personal Protection (PPE) – you may notice staff will be wearing PPE when appropriate

 Please do not come into the clinic if you are unwell, showing symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with someone showing these symptoms: high temperature (38C+), cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, sneezing, runny nose, loss of smell.

Our intention is to operate at maximum capacity, while taking essential safety precautions within Alert Level 3.

For those traveling from out of Auckland for treatment at our clinic, our team will provide letters to advise that you are required to travel for essential treatment, or they may make a suggestion for your treatment timing.

Public funding

As always, with Repromed there is no difference between private and public treatments.


For pregnant clients and those due to have a pregnancy test, your care won’t change and you will have bloods and scans as planned, unless you’re advised.

Personal support


We know this is a challenging time for everyone, particularly if you are managing fertility uncertainty or timing concerns.  Most treatments include at least one counselling session.  If you would like to speak with one of our counsellors, we can arrange a support call over the phone.  Please email  and a counsellor will contact you as soon as possible.

If we move to COVID-19 Alert Level 4

It’s good to know that IF a decision is made to move to Alert Level 4 and you have started treatment, Repromed will complete IVF and Frozen Embryo Transfers (FET) treatment as required (unless there is a government direction that changes). At Level 4, it isn’t possible for us to start new treatments, so Day 1 would need to be postponed in this instance.
