It is a fact that your regular eating habits can impact fertility by affecting ovulation, egg and sperm quality, implantation, pregnancy rates, as well as health during pregnancy and of your child. Weight-loss is the most common topic when it comes to diet and fertility – but did you know you can make changes to your diet to positively impact fertility without weight-loss? This is what we call your ‘fertility diet’ which is about improving your chances of successfully having a healthy baby.
Great news – for Repromed, Alert Level 3 means we will be resuming most fertility assessment and treatments. However, it will not be business as usual, as there will be changes within our clinic to ensure safety for everyone. We want to make the right decisions now so we can move back to full service as soon as it is safe to do so.
Our Medical Director Dr Guy Gudex has written a Q&A overview which provides answers to queries about COVID-19 and provides new information regarding anticipated service levels ongoing and funding provisions. Click here to view .
For everyone whose fertility treatment plan is impacted by the COVID-19 restrictions, you’ll want to know about this webinar on Wednesday night. It’s run by a panel of Fertility NZ board advisors, including our laboratory manager, Lana Hawkey.
The NZ Institute of Wellbeing & Resilience have kindly allowed us to share this overview of practical strategies for coping with the impact of COVID-19 in our lives. It is not specifically fertility related, but our counselling team felt that the tips in here were helpful and relevant. Click here to open the PDF.
Every client that is currently booked for treatment at Repromed has now been contacted by our nursing team to discuss next steps and associated refunds. We are sorry for those of you that had to learn this news via email due to poor phone coverage after the government announcement yesterday, but we wanted to get in touch as soon as possible.
No doubt you are aware of the announcement this afternoon by the Prime Minister of the Covid-19 alert change to Level 3 this afternoon and Level 4 Wednesday evening. This is uncharted territory for us all and I know this will be a very stressful time for our clients, especially where there are concerns about delays. I can update you on our response to the escalation in the plan to combat this global pandemic.
Due to the recent COVID-19 (also known as coronavirus) outbreak we are taking precautions around client appointments and treatment, and we may ask a few extra questions as we book treatments and consultations.
As the safety of our clients and staff is number one priority, we will be postponing tomorrow’s event. We will be rescheduling, so please watch this space! Thank you for your understanding.

More people are eating gluten free and feeling better for it. But have you ever wondered if you have Coeliac Disease? Coeliac Disease is relatively common around the world and in New Zealand, it is estimated that one in 70 people have this condition.
What’s interesting is that around 80% of people with Coeliac Disease are completely unaware they have the condition. It’s possible to have ‘silent’ Coeliac Disease: when a person has Coeliac Disease without any of the typical gut symptoms or vitamin deficiencies that usually lead to a diagnosis.
What has rarely been spoken about in the past is the potential link between Coeliac Disease and fertility.
