About the role

We are seeking applications for an Aotearoa/ New Zealand registered Fertility Social Worker to work part-time, 24 hours per week in the counselling team at our Remuera clinic. 

Our counselling team are available to all Repromed clients while they are trying to create and complete their family. As a Fertility Social Worker you will have a broad understanding of counselling. encompassing the full range of emotional and psychological issues involved with emphasis given to the management of stress of clients experiencing fertility uncertainty.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will be to provide therapeutic and supportive counselling for;

  • Clients during and after fertility treatment, both couples and individual clients.
  • Fertility and Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) treatment decision-making.
  • Implications for egg, sperm and embryo donors and for surrogacy cycles.

Skills and experience

The successful applicant must have;

  • At least three to five years of social work experience, preferably in infertility, grief and loss, working with couples or women’s health.
  • A warm and caring approach.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a busy multi-disciplinary team.
  • Have excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational, and report-writing skills.

Megan leads the nursing team through the continually changing face of IVF. She works in a multidisciplinary team, providing the essential organization between the doctors and laboratory and ensuring communication between all departments.

Megan started her IVF nursing career in the United Kingdom, working in two large London clinic’s before returning to New Zealand. She is also the Secretary of Fertility Nurses of Australasia.

I love working with people and see nursing as a vocation, not a job. I usually spend my downtime absorbed in a good book and planning my next travel adventure.
