Meet our Mandarin-speaking team

We understand that fertility treatment can be a daunting and sensitive issue, we make it a priority to provide clear and realistic information, so our clients know what to expect every step of the way. We are lucky to have three Mandarin speaking members in our Repromed team, which helps make the process easier and provides additional support for clients whose first language is Mandarin.

Dr Emily Liu is a New Zealand trained fertility specialist. She is a graduate from University of Otago, and trained as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Auckland. She completed Master study in Reproductive Medicine and has completed subspecialist training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI).

‘Facing the diagnosis of infertility and going through fertility treatment can be daunting. Along with the Repromed team, I like to make the experience easier for couples with my professional advice and individualised care.’ Dr Emily Liu

Emily has been involved in a number of clinical trials in fertility with University of Auckland, and has a strong interest in evidence-based medicine. Her other special interests are unexplained infertility and reproductive endocrinology. Originally from Taiwan, Emily came to New Zealand in 1995 and speaks fluent Mandarin.

Dr Tze Wong graduated from the University of Glasgow and spent his early career in the UK. He completed his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in various hospitals throughout New Zealand, with advanced training in reproductive medicine. He is currently completing the CREI (Certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility) subspecialist qualification.

Having had three children through surrogacy himself, he is passionate about supporting people through their fertility journey with professional advice and personal insight.

Dr Emily Liu and Dr Tze Wong are available at selected times during the week for consultations. For additional support, we also have a Mandarin speaking fertility nurse. Whenever possible and when available, we will do our best to connect you with these staff members to assist with communication. However, it’s important to note that while we will always endeavour to accommodate, we cannot guarantee the availability of staff.

Our IVF treatment information book has been translated for additional clarity, and we also offer a simplified Chinese version of our website. However, please be aware that all other written correspondence, including consents and information sheets, are provided in English. If you feel that this is insufficient, we strongly encourage you to use the ADHB interpreting services for document translation.

At Repromed we provide highly personalised fertility treatment for all. We offer a free 15 minute phone consultation with a fertility doctor for new clients. Take the first step today.
